The Maxville Chamber of Commerce has a variety of programs to encourage interest in business and local affairs, and to recognize those involved in the community. These include:

Village Beautification
Our executive have been very busy raising funds to enhance the village. The project includes new benches and flower boxes on Main street and the installation of murals. These large paintings will showcase the village's heritage by depicting subjects such as farming, logging, and the railways.

Citizen of the Year Award
This is presented annually at the Chamber's Annual General Meeting to the individual who has demonstrated continued caring and contribution to the Maxville and area community. The 2003 recipient was Gracie Doth, who has been a volunteer at the Maxville Manor since 1968. She was recognized for her outstanding commitment to the community.

Secondary Student Bursary
A $100 Bursary is awarded to a Grade 12 student at each of the local high schools in recognition for their interest in Finance and Commerce. This is awarded each June during the graduation exercises at both Glengarry District High School (GDHS) and Tagwai High School. Students are nominated by the school.

Student Effort Award
A plaque is presented to a student at both Maxville Public School and Ecole St. Bernard recognizing their hard work and effort to improve their grades. The award is presented during year-end ceremonies at each school, and the student is nominated by teachers at each school.
